We were at the R&D Management Conference 2019 in Paris [12.07.19]
Our doctoral candidates Helen Mengis and Johannes Dahlke were invited to present at the R&D Management Conference 2019 in Paris. On 17-21 June, our Ph.D. students Helen Mengis and Johannes Dahlke were invited to present at the R&D Management Conference 2019 in Paris. The R&D Management Conference is an international gathering of academics and practitioners interested in the study of research, development, technology management and innovation. The conference is a valuable platform for the communication and exchange of ideas among researchers and practitioners. Over 400 professors and Ph.D. students discussed the challenge of innovations to bridge research, industry, and society. This year, it was hosted by the renowned École Polytechnique in Palaiseau near Paris.
At the conference, Mrs. Mengis shared her research on “The Role of individuals, incumbents, and Failure in South Korean and Chinese Catch-up Processes: A Systematic Literature Review“. Mr. Dahlke presented his research on “Mapping the Evolution of Artificial Intelligence as a Research Topic in Management Literature: Bridges for the Sociotechnical Rift”.
While in Paris, they also followed an invitation by Agorize to visit the company at their headquarter in Paris. Agorize is the leading online platform for open innovation challenges. The young company brings together start-ups, students, developers and major brands and is also cooperating with our Chair for Innovation Management. During the recent summer term, our undergrad students participated in an open innovation challenge centered around innovative marketing strategies for a B2B components manufacturer. Mrs. Mengis and Mr. Dahlke were warmly welcomed and offered a guided tour through Agorize’s new offices at the heart of Paris. Afterwards, they engaged in an inspiring talk about the development of the platform with the lead programmers of the platform.
As always: after the conference is before the conference. Next year the R&D Management Conference will celebrate its 40th year of existence in Glasgow, Scotland.
