Maike Becker

Maike Becker is in the final stage of her doctoral thesis.
Her main research interests include sustainability transitions, innovation policy, and sustainable innovation.
She has working experience in accounting, business analytics, and sustainability consulting and is passionate about turning data into valuable insights.

Maike is now entering a new chapter in her professional career. Maike, we wish you all the best!

Dr. Kristina Bogner

Kristina joined the team in October 2020 as a senior researcher in the role of the Hohenheim Innovation Greenhouse outreach manager.

Kristina is enthusiastic about fostering transitions towards sustainability. Her research interests are the role of knowledge and innovation for sustainability (e.g. for the transformation towards a sustainable bioeconomy) the role of knowledge networks and different forms of cooperation for fostering sustainability as well as applying new methods (as ABM or ML) for sustainability research. 

As outreach manager of the Hohenheim Innovation Greenhouse, she is especially interested in creating and maintaining strong partnerships between the Innovation Greenhouse and regional, national as well as global partners.

Kristina left the University of Hohenheim in August 2022. She will pursue an assistant professor career at Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development at Utrecht University. Kristina, we wish you all the best!

Dr. Johannes Dahlke

Johannes Dahlke gained his doctoral degree in June 2023.

His main research interests are the application of artificial intelligence in innovation management and the dynamics of technological innovation systems. Previously, he received a double-degree M.Sc. in International Business and Economics from the University of Hohenheim and the University of Venice

He has working experience in the automotive industry as well as in consulting, and fosters a special interest for the Chinese economy and culture. He moonlights as a podcast host and film critic.

Johannes will join the research team of Innovation Economics at the Swiss Economic Institute at ETH Zurich. Johannes, we wish you all the best!

Dr. Helen Mengis

Helen Mengis gained her doctoral degree in December 2020.

Her main research interests are technological catch-up processes with a focus on South Korean and Chinese firms. She graduated as Master of Science in International Business and Economics at the University of Hohenheim and the University of Pavia. After graduating, she gained three years of working experience as an in-house consultant in a multinational company and as a lecturer at the Pforzheim University of Applied Science. Dear Helen, we wish you all the best for your future!

Dr. Daniel Sommer

Daniel Sommer earned his doctoral degree in August 2021. 

His primary research interests focus on the international dimensions of Research & Development, specifically the global R&D activities of multinational corporations and the international composition of R&D teams. 

He has accumulated work experience in various roles and holds an M.Sc. from both the University of Mannheim and the Norwegian School of Economics. After completing his studies at Hohenheim, Daniel joined a top-management consultancy. Daniel, we wish you all the best!
